about

Luyken's designs are inspired by nature, fashion, and the graceful whimsy of the human form. A combination of bold lines, vivid colors and compositions rich with movement lends her paintings a sophisticated exuberance. Her many characters inhabit a world of possibility: where top hats can be wine glasses, butterflies bloom in bouquets, helmets sprout flowers, and a wheelchair may peddle across the sky. Corinna Luyken was born in the San Francisco Bay area and raised in Oregon. She studied dance and art at Middlebury College in Vermont. She currently makes art on the coast of Washington, where she lives with her husband and her cat. Luyken’s business is dedicated to sustainability. All of her greeting cards are printed using recycled paper and soy based inks. In addition, a portion of the profits from greeting cards are donated to organizations that support peace, compassion, education and sustainability. Her clients have included: Universal Pictures, the City of Ukiah, Twisp River Pub, Methow Valley News, Julianna Marquis Jewelry, Sunshine Farm Market, Methow Arts Alliance, the Methow Conservancy, and the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators.
